Went to a mexican restaurant in waikiki named compadres yesterday night. This place is the shit, their salsa is fuckin awesome and so is their service. The girl serving our table was working pretty hard to make sure we were happy, there were seven of us with seperate checks. One guy that was with us is notorious for always trying to pull a fast one, he never misses an opportunity to steal food from the roach coach (lunch wagon), and will never pay for a round of drinks. He actually left the tab (he said he was paying for the drinks) on some girls we had recently met at a bar. They kinda "worked" there so they recognized him when we went back, he was talking to another girl when one of them yelled "Don't talk to fatso, he have no money!". Anyway back to the restaurant, it was time to pay, everyone who paid with cash left the table first so there were three of us left. My bill was nineteen dollars so I left her eight dollars, she even wrote 20% of 19 dollars is---, twenty percent is the minimum ammount in Hawai'i, it's expensive here. So I just assumed tightwad left her a tip on his card too, when she comes out and stops him from getting on the escalator, she says"I worked very hard to serve you and you left me nothing at (dramatic pause) ALL. He then counters with," nah it's cuz I didn't see, um but I put it on another paper". She said, "there is only one receipt and your total was 24 dollars, you left the tip line blank, and for the final total you wrote 24 dollars, who do you think you are, I don't work for free!". He then said, "well it's cuz I didn't have a pen", thats when I busted out laughing along with my five other co-workers and around 45 people standing around watching this shit. She then pulled out the receipt and a pen and told him fix it, but he tried to walk away saying "I gotta go, their wating for me, I gotta go pee". She grabbed him by his arm (like she was his mother), and in a stern voice told him he wasn't leaving until he fixed it. Around five minutes passed, and I was waiting curbside in the car with the windows rolled up, when he opened the door I could still hear people laughing. He tried to bullshit us when we were driving back, " I left her four dollars, but she wasn't happy so I had to give her another dollar", yeah right. He said " God, this was like the most embarassing moment I've ever had ", well you deserved it!

Yeah, I always tip hardcore, its how a waitstaff person makes a damn living and you gotta take your hat off to them, that shit gets pretty intense at times.
