although i did wake up drunk this morning, so the day hasn't been a total waste.
so you know, or maybe you don't in which case you'll learn, some types of scotch are sold as cask strength. Meaning when you buy a bottle of scotch normally, it has been diluted from the cask in which it aged. One such brand is Laphroaig. The difference is twofold - higher proof, and more intense flavor. A typical bottle of scotch is somewhere around 80 proof or so, cask strength is around 120. And they go so far as to recommend the drinker water down the divine amber, 2 parts to 1 water to scotch. Well, i say water is for wusses - if it's an expensive bottle of scotch, you're drinking for the taste. And why water down beautiful taste? So I drank about 1/3 of a bottle last night playing poker, and woke up happy this morning. Every day should be so pleasant.
next step, find someone to wake up with.
