During the day he watches us sadly, wondering when we gave up on him and what he did wrong. How we could have forgotten him, dismiss him. The resistance is so strong that he is less than a shadow in the daylight, less than an idea, paper-thin at best under the roof of those who think they remember what he was all about. He tries in vain to prove himself, small miracles in an otherwise ordinary day, a warm cup of coffee for cold hands and the flower growing through the cracks in the pavement.

And at night he leans down as we sleep and whispers the truth, why we are here, where we can go, what we once were able to do but no longer remember, what we can become. He tells us everything now, confides in us his greatest dreams when we can't help but listen.

But by day it's just part of another knotwork of dreams and is dismissed yet again.

It could be really hard, being God.

Being a denizen of Norse mythology, it's really not bad. Thanks for the thoughts though.

I liked the new Death comic, At Death's Door. I love Jill Thompson's style and it was fun to see what was happening with Death while the Sandman had the key to the gates of Hell. But Lost Highway was a David Lynch (Twin Peaks) film very cool crazy stuff with excelent cinematography and pretty interesting story. You should check it out. smile
