I think the thing that really sticks out to me is this:
I went to a wedding. Normally I am not a big fan of them, but I actually had a pretty good time. Why do I not like them normally you ask... well to be honest I am not sure. Maybe it is because it seems like such a serious event... the ceremony requires certain events to take place... it seems so rigid and maybe awkward? At this time you have to walk down the isle to this song, then stand up front and face this way, then recite these lines, then you have to kiss and then you have to cut the cake and then you have to dance, all of those things in that order and everyone is watching you too... it sounds more stressful than fun to me. So many rules and guidelines to follow!
This wedding was really laid back, simple, and just sweet. It took place on a little farm/garden place in the middle of the city. Old bottles and mason jars were everywhere, some filled with plants, some with beverages. The food of the night, nice and simple - pizza! It was great.
When it came to the actual ceremony, my favorite part was seeing the face of the groom as he saw his bride walking down the aisle. His eyes were glowing and as soon as she got to the front he grabbed her hands and held them tight the whole time. I have never seen a groom do that, it was really sweet. Actually the whole night he would find her and grab her hands or hug her. He didn't have that macho I can't act affectionate in front of others thing going on which was really refreshing to see. He was obviously really happy to be marrying this girl. Whenever he did that her eyes would light up and she would just stare at him quietly for a minute with a smile on her face. She was obviously very happy too, and I loved it! Made me happy to see other so happy :)
Also, I did this with my kitty! He kept wanting to be held, so I made a sling for him out of a scarf because I was trying to cook and get things done. He loved it and didn't want to get out. Isn't he so cuteeeee?! He makes me happy.
