Theres two raging questions that people always ask when it comes to Star Wars.
1. What order do you watch them in?
2. What's your favourite?
For me:
1. 4,5,6,1,2,3,7,8,9 (with the sub stories in between)
2. 5,3,4,6,1,2,9,7,8
The newer ones get a lot of stick, in a lot of ways, so they should. By newer ones, I mean 1-2-3. But there is so much to love about them. Jar Jar is annoying, you're right, and the acting is a bit piss poor in Episode 3 especially. But if you forget about that and focus on the story and meaning behind it all, they fit intonthe saga seemlessly.
That being said, imagine if they redone 1-2-3 inline with Rogue One? They would be sublime. Rogue One was a huge success, a truly excellent film, even if you're not a Star Wars fan. Same goes for Solo; a really good action movie.
So what about the originals? Class around right? Not going to lie, Episode 6 drags out - remove the Ewoks! But overall, all 3 are timeless masterpieces.
So the new new ones. TOO DISNEY. It's too fluffy and screen friendly. The storey is predicable. Episode 8 is a truly awful film. Did they try too hard with this one? Episode 9 on the other hand was brilliant. A perfect send off for the Skywalker saga.
Which leads me to another final raging question. What next?
