Hey,
Things seem to be going well for me as far as the tattoo shop thing... I was so scared that I missed my chance, but i'm not so scared anymore. I'm still drawing for the owner like crazy on that huge, involved piece because I had to redo some of the elements that the customer vetoed. It's cool, I can draw whatever in any style, I think. But the best thing is, the owner is kind of bossing me around... like a tattoo artist treats an apprentice .
He needs to discuss shop rules with me tomorrow, and he emailed me and was like, "Why don't you pick up lunch for us and meet me at the shop at 11:00. I'm not picky, but I don't eat fast or fried foods." So I'm like, "yay! He's telling me to fetch things for him! He's treating me like an apprentice!" To me, it seems like such a good sign. Still, I don't really know what's going on though.
Oh, but I called the shop and an artist I didn't know (the old apprentice?) answered and he was like, "Oh, is this the new girl? Hi!" So then I'm thinking, "Okay, good! I'm apparently 'the new girl'!"
See, all signs point to yes... *wishful thinking*
Also, I'm very excited to get my forearm cover-up sleeve on Thursday. He's doing it as compensation for the drawings I'm doing for him. Not that I needed compensation... I mean, the chance of an apprenticeship is worth all the crazy deadline work! But still, it's a very nice! I'm getting that stupid Pippi Longstocking covered on my left arm. Argh, i hate that thing.
Better get back to drawing...
