Had a great random day yesterday - spent the day mooching in town with Paddy. Had coffee, shopped - got X men trilogy and a Marilyn Monroe boxset on dvd. I also tracked down a copy of the book The Great Gatsby for 1.99. Score
Me and pads went for a drink to the gay scene, as they have this huge outside area, and there were thousands of girls out! We discovered a huge load of irish men there, on a stag do (I live in the big city for stag do's - everyone comes here for nights out) So I sat staring at women and listening to all their accents. I wasn't too dressed up, but I had on one of my fave fifties dresses and bit of lipstick, and I had all these irish men all telling me I was beautiful and trying to get my attention. Corny, but wow, for what that sort of thing can do for a girl's self esteem.
All the irish guys were all in Dublin bands, and had a guitar, and we were all singing loads of songs, and the weather was nice and warm, the rum and coke was flowing... hmm.. bliss. I miss Dublin from when I lived there, so it was great. So I picked one, a guy called Joe, and we hit it off. He loves Tori Amos too, and he played and sang me a rendition of 'Winter', wow, he likes my fave Tori song too! And he saw the copy of the great gatsby in my bag- and started talking excitedly about books with me.
Well, there was Irish snogging and much merryment - I went along to a few more bars and joined the stag celebrations. Me and the guy are going to add each other on facebook, but it's all a bit doomed as he lives in Ireland. It was weird though - I was just musing how much I missed Ireland, and how if LA didn't work out I was planning to go back to Dublin as I know some studios and people and could probs get a job.
I'm beginning to notice these blogs seem to be me gushing about the person of the week- lol, I'm just very interested in people, I meet so many people that are utterly fab in different ways.
Anyway, yeah, I had fun. x
