My friend Charmaine
This year I started a new job which was as I expected another dull, unrewarding way to waste my time, however I soon became friends with a girl who worked there every Sunday.
Her name's Charmaine she's a really good laugh and an absolute joy to be around, she's not had an easy life I'm sorry to say and she currently lives alone in her fathers house in a rough part of town.
Now Char's really into her internet life and had built up quite a following on one site under an assumed name (she didn't like to give out her real name) and yet despite the friends and support she recently decided to get rid of everything connecting to her assumed name and blocked everyone that knew her this way.
Now this kinda freaked me out a little, I imagined what my life would be like without her to talk to online or make the one working day a week actually enjoyable, she's been very supportive to me since I split with my ex and the whole idea was pretty depressing, I gotta feel sorry for some of those guys who grew attached to her cos they can't contact her without her say so.
This may seem a little harsh perhaps but she's only 17 and has always got distant to those who try to get to close, this is the main reason why I don't try to be more then friends, I'd be really sad to not have her in my life, she's my little pal and we go to see movies together and I guess I'm old enough to appreciate a friendship that's not leading to sex.
As a final gesture to her online following she left a rather personal letter on her blog where she revealed her real name, this is why I'm using her name here although she's not old enough to see this site anyway.
Here's a pic of her, she's not really upset or anything in the pic she took this one when I showed her my b&w pics
Anyways the whole reason behind this entry is just to say the stuff outloud about her that I can't really say for fear of scaring her off I guess, some day I'll probably tell her that I care about her as a friend and hope to know her for a very long time, hopefully while sober...

If you give her support and time maybee she will come around.
I have a very dear froend that has some problems, and she has socialphobia and at times makes herself distant. reassurance and time are your best friends here.
