so today was my official first day of school. overall it was pretty decent, we sat through four hours of lecture and then went to the lab to play with our cadavers. what a great experience, i wasn't quite as repulsed as i thought i would be. once you get over the fact that the cadaver used to be a living person, its fairly interesting....

i haven't updated my journal in a while, but somebody actually cared enough to read my last entry so i thought i'd post another. so here's what's on my mind recently. med school starts in two weeks, and i'm NERVOUS. i've worked my whole life to get this far, but now i'm not sure if i'm cut out for a life as a doctor....

speaking of moving to another country to work, i want to join the peace corps when i get my teaching certificate, and teach in the middle east or africa. i think that would be one of the most valuable experiences in my lifetime! if i have a child by then, i'd like to bring my child along so they can experience another way of life so they can better appreciate their american lifestyle - if i come back, that is.

hey tryphana, thanks for the advice. fuck it, I think I'll just be a doctor, I suppose its better than bagging groceries or something...

yes, you should definitely do the peace corps thing. i've had two friends go to Africa with the peace corps, they loved every minute of it.
