I forget what's happened since my last update, other than boring treks back and forth from the job centre to shops and the nagging feeling that I should be re-writing my CV instead of watching The Mighty Boosh for the millionth time.
But I found pictures on my phone (I was always so scornful of the whole camera phone thing, but now I have one I do like being able to take (blurry, dark) pictures of anything without dragging a camera about with me) so here are some things that have amused me...
Is it my imagination or is this cafe claiming to have 17 foot flat screens? Amazing. Imagine looking at one of our sets on that, we'd have tits about three foot high.
I made cakes. Though I cheated and made them with those kits for 5 year olds. Mmmm...Dennis the Menace paper. Do kids these days still read the Beano? The cakes were intended as a thank you for Woody for my tattoo, but I didn't get around to taking them over and my flat mates ate them. Sorry Phinn. But I did eventually do more and took those over, and they were probably much less burnt.
This is a sign on the building site near my house. It makes me giggle every time I go past...evidently I need more excitement in my life.
I keep knitting. I keep knitting wristbands. They're simple to make and don't use too much wool and I can't stop making them. However, I don't wear wristbands. I'm building up a small collection of bizarre woollen products which will sit in my room and gather dust. My next project is to make a Mighty Boosh backpack, though I think this is way too ambitious for my abilities and I might start smaller and do another fucking scarf or something.
This afternoon me and Nic got together for a stitch 'n' bitch session with Harry Potter. (The film, just to make that clear for the rather dim ones of you out there)
At the weekend I became a member of Blockbuster and rented
(Good but too fucking confusing until the end, would be better with a second watching but then I'd already know all the twists)
(Utter shit fest, unsurprisingly. DVD started skipping halfway through so heaved a sigh of relief and switched it off)
(Seen it before - beautiful film but I forgot just how bloody annoying Clementine is)
I just got a text asking me to come into work tonight. I need the money, but at the same time I am incredibly sick of being asked to come into work with only an hour's notice, especially when I was in yesterday and they could have asked me then. So I said no.
We had a gig the other day with a bunch of indie bands, and after they'd all finished some guy wearing gold star shaped glasses, a silver spangly jacket, white satin flares and a velvet top hat with a skull and crossbones on it appeared and started to play some bizarre electronic music while dancing like a wizard. Every now and then he'd dive off the stage and run around the room for a bit. I have no idea what was going on.
Right, I'm off to eat hummus and pitta bread and knit while reading a certain book that mat8drb lent to me. How's that for multi tasking? I might even watch the Boosh again too. Mmm...one day I will steal Vince Noir.
Edited to add: I keep getting loads of friend requests from people who have never spoken to me. I am not going to add you if you don't at least make some attempt to prove you're not a complete moron first. Also, I think I denied several people who I just realised had messaged me via the private thing - sorry. It's easier to keep track if you comment in my journal, I am disorganised and grumpy and trigger happy with the delete button if I don't recognise you.
