ok, i survived my week long day. saturday was 15.5 hours at the gallery...i kicked godard out at 1:45am n i didn't get my own ass out of there until 2:30am, then home to shower before i passed out only to have to get up n be BACK at the gallery at 11am. THAT was not pretty... but i made it, i'm alive. it wasn't that i'm getting too old for that kind of shit, it's just that i haven't had one of those days in so damned long that i forgot what it was like, ya know? but i swear, thank gawd for my bipolar, cuz saturday morning when i was getting up n getting ready for the mayhem, i think i cahnneled mania! no, really! got me through that longassed day on a few coca~colas and maybe a handful of snack food without crashing at any point in the day.
this is also bday hell month! in addition to my all important bday, i have 11 other people with bdays this month! it's crazy!
still waiting to hear from sawa about taking my set. gawd i can't wait! my friend tim that shoots for and runs chopperhead magazine offered to shoot my set, also, so maybe if sawa just really doesn't have the time right now, i'll hit him up. i feellike i'd be more comfortable having a chickie take the pics, but tim seems pretty cool and we're both outcasts here in the 91016, so we'll see what happens.
and on other coolness, saturday night i was able to meet shinya kimura, the chopper builder, courtesy of tim, and when i met shinya, he told me to come by the shop sometime! dude! how cool is that? and no, i highgly doubt it was one of those 'come by n blow me' kind of invites, cuz i believe he is married n has a kid n i think his wife was even right there when he told me to drop by!
all the excitement on saturday had me thinking about my old days in the record biz...i thinki kinda miss it. i was telling all this to my cupcakey goodness n he started telling me 'no', but i guess i neede to tell him that i was thinking about getting back into it once i moved to nola...good lord! did he think for a moment i was changing my mind about moving there? nononono...when i get to where i belong (nola), THEN i will look into getting back into the music biz. i don't know how or in what capacity, since it seems that alot of the music industry seems to be falling by the wayside, but i'll worry more about that once i'm there.
