Been having a hard time keeping up with you SG. My internet at home sucks and I feel like I have been so caught up with my new life in NYC. Its a new year, and as I was reminded more than once yesterday, it is time to look for a job. The past month and a half has been glorious without work, but it has left me not only broke, but quite honestly, bored. So mostly I want to work simply to fill in the gaps of my days. The only bummer is that I have to build my resume. I havent needed one in years because I have been fortunate enough to have fallen into jobs based on who I knew...after all, who you know does matter. So I guess I will begin today. Ugh.
The Holidays were incredible for me. It was my first time away from home, and I couldnt have felt more welcome being with my boyfriends family. They are so amazing and made me feel right at home. We ate and drank and laid around and put on all the holiday weight you expect to. And I was happy to do so, tho now, as usual, I am kicking myself a bit. But Im not so worried, I'll drop it soon enough
We were given a couple gifts that I am terribly excited about. A Keurig for my coffee addiction really makes life easy, and a kick-ass food processor to evoke and satisfy my inner chef. I have already put the coffee maker to good use and I have been avidly searching recipes for my other new toy. First on the agenda is to make Hummus and Salsa. I haven't been able to find a salsa recipe that sounds good, so I think I will just wing it. I figure I will roast garlic and a variety of peppers but use fresh tomatoes, onion and cilantro. Blend it up and I imagine it will be good to go. Feel free to let me in on any tips you may have for salsa
As far as resolutions go, I dont have one, nor do I really believe in them either. I do have some things I would like to do this year. Besides things I need to do or should do (like getting a job), I would love to travel to Europe. I have never been, but I know I will love it. My boyfriend asked me to pick 5 cities and we will go. So, in no particular order, I chose: Paris, Liverpool, Prague, Barcelona and Rhome. And hopefully we will get to hit them all in one trip. Fingers are crossed.
I have also been badly wanting to do another set for SG. It has been such a long time coming and I wished I would have done one sooner, but life has a funny way of getting in the way. Its fine tho. I am fairly certain that this next set will be a front pager for sure.
Well I better be off and get started on my big to-do list I have wrote up for myself. Hope everyone had a fantastic New Year and a very Happy Holiday!!
I will leave you with some fun winter pics:
