Threesome at Kantipor
Me and two mates went to the Kantipor last Wednesday,a Nepalese restaurant on the A6 in Stockport.
I initially had to rescue them on Princess Street in Stockport. They were stood outside Allsports at the top end,not far from where the wonderful Sifters Records used to be in the 1980s, from where I got my first Husker-Du record for 10p.They appeared to be lost, despite the excellent and detailed map I had drawn for them.Which they mocked, insinuating it wasn't entirely accurate and contained features that were no use.
I have never been in the Kantipor, despite the fact it is 10 minutes walk from my house.
It is fairly typically Indian in decor and obviously, the food is similar to Indian with one or two exceptions. I have never seen pulse pancakes at an Indian restaurant for example, nor had I ever seen Holly's devine chilli potato fritters, which were the culinary highlight of the night. Elizabeths paneer shaslick (which I also had) was extremely good as well.
The conversation was highly entertaining of course. I have never come across anyone who has been bitten on the foot by a blind porcupine for instance. Sounds more like a Monty Python sketch,or, a Nurse With Wound song title.
