Tale of Two Sisters- Kim Jee-Woon
A friend lent me this video, saying it was the most frightening film he had seen since "Ring". He warned me about one scene near the end, that left him so terrified he had to sleep with the light on all night.
It wasn't that aspect of the film that disturbed me though, in fact the scene he mentioned actually gave me a vague feeling of satisfaction because it appeared just revenge was being taken.
Instead, it was what appeared to be terrible child abuse, cruelty and murder which I found difficult to handle. At least two of the characters in the film may have been suffering from psychiatric disorders; it is likely there was a supernatural element to the events in the house also. The plot was very difficult to work out, as characters changed places, jumped from life to death, and the film moved backwards and forwards through time. I was of course very much rooting for the persecuted sisters, but whether both of them were alive and in what form, only became vaguely clear at the end of the film.

I needed to think a lot and read imdb to understand the whole plot.
I really liked it though, I always like weird twists and confusing plots, films that aren't so easy to understand.
