Two irritating films in two weeks.
The first, Michael Winterbottom's "Cock and Bull Story", was supposedly an attempt to film Tristram Shandy's "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman".
Maybe I'm missing something profound, but it seemed to me to be an utterly self-indulgent,smug,in-joke-ridden luvvie fest instead. Probably the worst film I have seen for years.
This week was the turn of Werner Herzog's "Grizzly Man". Within two minutes of the film starting, I was already almost grinding my teeth with irritation at the "hero", the toe-curlingly embarrassing "gentle warrior" Timothy Treadwell. I'm amazed the bears put up with him for so long, by the end of the film I would almost have been ready to shake paws with the bear that killed him-if I had been as stupid as he was.

Yeah, I know the GiantRobot sells issues on their site, but I don't think the latest one will be available for a while!
