So last friday was my last day in uniform. It was a strange feeling I still don't think its hit me yet. Finally got rid of that garbage hair cut I was dealing with, left it long as hell on top and shaved up an undercut on the sides. Almost a week later an the beard an sides are coming in nice and for now I'm just slicking the top back in a lil pomp until it gets longer. I swear if my next jobs tells me I have to shave we may have problems.
Went down to Savannah GA for a few days to see family before I head out with the east coast in my rear view. Went an spent everyday with my grandma for a few hours. Now I get down on some old school big band, swing, jazz and rockabilly as a general rule but on a whim I threw some on my pandora with my grandma in the truck. This is the most reserved church going old lady I've ever known in my entire life, but the song "runaround sue" by Dion came on and she said GUN IT! I just laughed my ass off and let the gibson pipes on my chevy roar meanwhile gramms is trying to do her best high step in the cab. This is a 80 something yr old woman with a walker. Made the whole trip we spent the rest of that day listening to old jams, dino, frank, j franklin, glenn miller, ella fitzgerald, louis armstrong, perry como etc. etc. etc. I havent seen my grandma act like that ever haha. Just glad we got to share that moment.
Spent some time out on the beach at tybee island. Being the ghost of a scottsman that I am I burned within the hour but it was all in good times. Plus a really cute girl was doing her best at teaching me a thing or two on a long board so I'm fine with it. all in all not a bad trip.
Happy to be back in columbia SC for a week or two more till the movers come and pack everything up and its time for me to hop in the truck just me, a duffel bag, and gun driving out west back home for the last time. Until then guess I'm just gonna keep working out and sit back with good tunes an read a few books that need catching up on.
