Well, we pretty much clean all of the instruments off after a surgery, put them through a washer/sterilizer, process the sets (put them together and inspect them), sterilize them, and then put them back into circulation! Exciting, I know....

Actually I was planning on going for Nursing, then I switched to Surgical Technology. The program didn't start until this January so I needed some classes to take in the meantime, so I got my certification for Central Processing (what I do now). I don't think I'll be doing surg tech, I changed my mind again and plan on doing diagnostic medical sonography. So to answer your question, yes, I've pretty much always wanted to do something in the medical field
