The worst night I've had in many months.
I was working. There was a free tournament, I had to spend all my bonus points, but whatever. I don't use them for anything anyways. Well, there were 461 entrants, and I am in the final 2. I have been playing perfect poker, and I was the chip leader. I hit trip 6's on a hand, and I have my opponent down to almost 0 chips. No matter what, after this hand, I will win, because he doesn't have enough chips to come back. Or so I thought. With one card to be dealt, there were 2 cards in the deck that could win the hand for him. Two cards out of 44 that could save him. And guess what? He hits it.
After that, I didn't have enough chips to come back. He doubled up, and I was left with very little.
What was the prize that I missed out on, you ask? What prize did a King on the river, a card that had a 4.5% chance of hitting cost me?
A $12,600 prize package which included a 10,000 dollar entry into the Partypoker Million IV, which, by the way, will be shown on television. Oh, and over 2 grand to spend on the cruise itself. What did I get for 2nd? The way this particular tourney was drawn-up: Absolutely nothing.
A 4.5% miracle card that cost me over 12 grand.
This is why I'm going back to college and quitting this fucking job. I can't fucking do this anymore.
