'Scuse me while I FREAK THE FUCK OUT X_____x
So last week I got an e-mail from my old school, saying there was a mandatory meeting on Friday (the 13th, hurhur) that I HAD to be there for or I wouldn't be elegible for Career Day. Mind you, I didn't find out just how serious this was (as in I HAD to go) until almost noon Friday. The meeting was at 4p or 5p and I live 3 hrs outside of SF :| YEAH, heart attack like whoa. Called a friend of mine who lived near-ish SF, and apparently she didn't know about the meeting and didn't understand wtf was going on, so she freaked out, I packed my stuff, and made a hasty trip to SF. All for an hr long meeting -_-
Whyyyyy am I freaking out? Because I (and the other 60-some odd students who made it onto "the list") have an interview with a TON of companies on May 25th. I haven't received a final list of the companies, but some of them include: Disney, Pixar, Rhythm & Hues, BlueSky, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, ILM, and looots of other big & small animation/game companies. A ONE-ON-ONE INTERVIEW WITH ALL OF THEM. IN A WEEK AND A HALF. AAAAAAHHH.
My friend and I both started panicing because we don't really have anything polished and ready. She has some stuff from a short film she worked on, but nothing personal. I don't have anything polished X_x YEAAAH OMG.
I spent part of today polishing a 3D animation from my last semester of school, and I must say, I'm feeling less paniced. I have a lot to do on it, but not as much as I thought I might, so if nothing else, I'll have this one nice piece of animation for my demo reel. It's not much, but it's better than nothing, and sometimes one piece of animation is more than enough to get you hired. We'll see what happens. BUT YEAH.
I haven't touched Maya in a year and a half @.@ Thankfully a lot of it has come right back to me, and I got right into the groove. I'm feeling okay, but still freaking out. I have a lot of work to get done in about a week's worth of time. YEAH STRESS HOLY CRAP
