Well my life certainly got turned upside down last week .-.;;
From last Thursday through this Tuesday, I was in the hospital for clots in my lungs, heart, and right leg. The doctors all say if I had waited much longer, I probably would have died.
Last Wednesday I was having a hard time breathing, and by Thursday, I was almost blacking out when I would walk just a couple feet. So I called my mom, she picked me up (I had been downtown reporting for jury duty, which got cancelled anyway) and took me to prompt care. Did a couple of tests, and they sent me over to ER. Loooots of blood tests, CT scan, heart echiogram (or whatever it's called), ambulance ride, which was fun
, aaaand yeah. I was stuck on a gurney in the hallway from 10:30a, when I first showed up, till about 7p when a room was finally open for me :| Suuuucked. I must have talked to over 20 people that day.
Long story short, I was on a liquid diet for a few days, then solid food, and every few hrs my vitals were being checked, and blood was being drawn. I also had a heart monitor that I repeatedly set off just from going to and from the bathroom. My heart rate would be like, 140 or so, just from going potty :\ After boatloads of tests, they think the clots were caused by my birth control and being overweight, and they're double-checking it wasn't genetic, but I highly doubt it was. So needless to say, no more BCP and I'll be going on a diet and try to lose weight. I won't be able to exercise for a while, as the next 6 weeks I have to be reaaaally careful.
Iiii dunno, this whole thing scared the shit out of me. I'm only 24 and aside from my weight and issues from car accidents, I'm healthy. Then to have this happen, it's scary. People keep telling me it's a wake-up call and I'm just like :| No it's not. I knew I needed to lose weight and had been working on it slowly for a while. So for people to treat me almost dying as a wake-up call just pisses me off. All this has done is made me incredibly upset and scared, and pushing my dieting harder than what I had been doing already.
Oh, and to make this whole experience even better, my dog died while I was in the hospital![frown](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/frown.cec081026989.gif)
