I'm finally getting some time to sit down and do something here, so I wanted to give a little update as to why I haven't been here as often lately.
My job has been pretty much a disaster lately, with people being sick (luckily not with COVID), and shipping just being crazy. But I did end up getting the promotion I've been waiting for for a while now, so that helped a little I suppose.
On top of work, and having family over every Sunday, I've been chatting with a lovely young lady, as some of you might know from a blog of mine a couple months back. I was finally able to meet her in person, and she's awesome. I made the drive up to Aspen, where she lives, about 3 hours away and I'm ridiculously glad I did. We had lunch on the top of Aspen Mountain and this was the view from the deck of the restaurant. It was incredible.
After lunch, we walked around downtown Aspen, grabbed some coffee, and had some great conversation. I would have liked to stay for much longer but I left around dinner time, in order to avoid driving through the mountains in complete darkness, or at very least I wanted to make it past Independence Pass while it was still light. This is a small part of Independence Pass: (not my photo)
It's a winding mountain road, with lots of hairpin turns, a big gain in elevation, no lights, and no guardrails. An amazing view but will definitely make your buttcheeks clench! Anyway, I made it past Independence Pass before dark and the rest of the drive was pretty easy, although a little dark for my liking (no streetlights for most of the highway in the mountains). All said and done, it was an amazing day, and I can't wait to see her again 😁
I'm gonna do my best to catch up on all the sets I've missed and leave some love.
Thanks for reading, if ya did!
