I'll get right to it - I joined Facebook Dating within the past few months because, to be completely honest, I'm sorta sick of being single, you know? I figured it couldn't hurt and hey, I might actually meet someone.
I came across a profile last night that I immediately had a tiny thought could be fake, but I figured, "fuck it, why not?" and gave her a like. Not even 5 minutes later, I get a notification that she liked me back and we matched. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get just a little excited about it, even though I knew there was no way in hell that a girl like her would shoot me a like in a million years.
Girls like this are so far out of my league, it's not even funny. But we "matched" so I shot her a message, something simple, like "hey, great to meet you!" because, being honest again, I suck at starting conversations haha. Anyway, I didn't get a message back until today around 2pm. I was completely accepting the fact that I had been ghosted again, because it has happened to me with literally every person I have talked to there. "Maybe we can go to Whatsapp and talk. I seldom come here" she says. 1. you just joined, but you seldom use it? 2. who the fuck uses the word "seldom"? Again, I thought, "sure, why not" knowing almost full well by that point, that the odds were not in my favor. She gave me her Whatsapp code thing, so I shot her a message there. Something like "hey, it's Dan from FB. What are you up to?"
"Want to start doing my yoga" she replies.
For shits and giggles (because that pretty much confirmed my suspicions) I replied, "Oh nice! Are you a yoga pro?"
The actual response I got back was "I am a person who loves yoga, it is very useful to keep my figure."
Now, her profile says she's from Minnesota, and I know Minnesotans have accents, but not a single one that I've met talks or texts like that 😂
I haven't replied yet and I most likely won't. I guess this was good for a laugh at least, even if it did get my hopes up a tiny bit haha.
I hope anyone who reads this might get a little laugh as well!
