Yesterday we went grocery shopping. I was wearing this shirt
which I got during my time in Argentina. The cashier was making small talk with Jhay and I wasn't really paying attention (mostly because she was a very mumbly Jane). Then she noticed my shirt and got all excited.
"Did you go to Patagonia?"
I did.
"Were you on that Survivor show?"
Um, no. This was way before that show even existed.
"Were you in the jungle?"
No, I was in the mountains - the Andes, but I visited other places. (I didn't bother trying to explain that "Patagonia" doesn't actually include the jungle: it's more of the pampas, or plains.)
"Oh wow, I didn't even know that place existed until that show came out!"
Really? I didn't know there was a show there, until just now.
So I guess good for tv, as it is somehow broadening people's understanding of geography?

Hehe, people are stupid. But they're an endless source of amusement at the same time.
