A day off today. Went to the library, came back with 2 Ben Bova novels, Venus and Jupiter. I know I've watched too much Sailor Moon when the first image that comes to mind on hearing a planet name alone is the Senshi that corresponds with it.
Also getting ready to go to Anime Expo. Am I the only person who can feel loney in a crowd full of like-minded people?

Anime Expo is a con, one of the biggest anime conventions. I think it's up to 25,000 people now. Full of anime fans going to meet creators and companies, see new titles, dress up in costume and buy lots of anime goods. And party, but I never get invited to any parties.
The one thing that's unique to anime cons is the amount of cross-dressing costiming (or Cosplay) that goes on. Someone is using the Orbital Mind Control Lasers to get big, hairy men to dress up as scantily-clad females like the Sailor Moon group, Faye Valentine (Google for "Man Faye" if you dare) or the Dirty Pair. Women also dress up as their favorite male characters, but this involves more covering, rather than less, so the effect is not horrifying. Vash the Stampede from Trigun and Inu-Yasha are popular choices for female costumes, for instance.
Small world, isn't it? I was born in Elmhurst, to be precise.
the sewing talent/costume creativity of a lot of cosplayers has me in absolute awe. haven't been exposed to any big hairy male cosplayers, though... sounds intimidating, to say the least.
vash is awesome! dunno anything about this "inu-yasha" yet. what anime is he from?
and sleep debt, eh. how i wish i could pay it off in cash. on that note - g'night!
