Not too bad an effort hey.
This was a custom window install originally that I designed and made at work, it was a couple of sheets of 2.4 x 1.2 meter clear 20mm thick acrylic, (Each sheet is about 45kg) with rose petals printed each side to create a 3d effect to place behind an oversize bottle and props.
After the campaign, there was no where to store, so it was going to be cut to pieces and thrown out.
So, I thought, why not make a custom 1 off Dior Desk.
So I kept one of the sheets, and cut down the damaged edges after it came back from the shop window, added curved edges and a cable management hole, and flamed the edges with a blow torch to give it a clear see through edge.
Next, I needed a base to hold it, even after trimming the top size to 180cm x 100cm, it still weighed over 40kg, so it needed a strong base.
I designed the legs, to support the middle of the table, and splay out, had them welded up, and painted them metalic gold once I got it home.
Then, I needed to manage the cables underneath, I hate cables on the floor. So, I sacrificed my old bedside table, and painted it a chalky finish blush colour, (It was teal) to sit underneath, all the power cables sit inside and come up through the table, no mess on the floor.
How you like it?
For size reference, thats a 34" monitor plugged into the Macbook pro.
