I have a cold now....felt shithouse at work for most of the day and couldn't wait to get out of there - usual story. I think my mind was a little numb (vague, blank, etc) from new years, which is why I could take being at work last week. But this week is a little different - I have my wits about me, and work is shit again.

I got a new book over the weekend (thanks to a kind gift from a relative of my girly)..."Death Sentence" - Don Watson. It's about the "decay of public langugage" and is a little different to the normal science\computer\...meh *can't think of the genres at the mo*... books I usually read.
Anyway this quote cacked me for a while....
...the establishment of a comprehensive feedback process industry at the National, State/Territory and regional levels to inform the continuous improvement of the training packages in future iterations...
...it's typical of the language that the book talks about. Not sure why it made me laugh - probably because I have had to write similar garbage at work.
Got to the beach today after work (even a cold won't stop me)... too windy to stay too long, so we (myself and gf) chit-chatted (and had a quick dip) and came to the conclusion that under no circumstances am I to wear speedos, dick-stickers or budgy-smugglers anywhere in public for my entire life. I have no problem with this. I just wonder when is the cutover point in a man's life that he goes from board-shorts (of some description) to a tight pair of undies to swim in (NB life guards and olympic swimmers excepted).
Looking forward to the weekend...nothing planned - which compared to the last two weeks is fine by me
