This is what happens to my car when the landlord can't drive right.
The story starts as i walked out of work today and started to clean the snow off my car. I looked at my rear left wheel well to see if the rust is spreading. I was stunned to see that there was a dent in my fender i never noticed before. I got back in my car pissed off a little wondering who and where this could have happened. Now i only go to 2 places. 1. my house, 2. my work. I work night shift at a grocery store. No one parks beside me and i know all of my co-workers cars and could tell it wasn't them. Customers were out of the question as they park in another different area.
I then thought of home and picturing where my car is parked in its own numbered spot. I then realized only one vehicle could hit me where my car sits. The Landlords truck.
The truck sits there for days on end only moving when he needs to move heavy stuff. The spot he parks in was, and i say 'was' and emergency 15 minute parking spot, but he took that sign down and put a number in its place and parked his truck there (The building and lot owners were unaware of this until today).
I called the landlord at 8am this morning to tell him what has happened. He replied "I haven't moved the truck in days!", i said "it could have happened last week". Thats when the snow storm happened anyways. So he said he'll come to check it out. I said that i would be home all day. I ran outside to take pictures incase he decided to "wipe away" any evidence. An hour or more later he shows up and i go outside to show him my car.
"No it wasn't me, my bumper is higher than your dent and i would have hit here (insert image of him doing the old body measurement from his feet to thigh).
I showed him the paint chips that he took from my car.
Landlord- "Those are from the parking garage, look this paint chip is the same color (he points to a different part of his bumper)."
I said "No, those are 2 totally different colors, that paint chip matches my car",
He points to the different spot again.
I said "You hit my car while backing out of your spot since thats the only way you can turn"
"No, i check my mirrors and my rear end is always way over here, and if i hit your car i would have gone and told you."
"When that snow fall came my car was parked a tiny bit higher due to the plow going by and me parking on top of it."
"No it wasn't me, go blame someone else" and he walked away.
I went inside, grabbed a measuring tape and measured his bumper to where he hit onmy car.
Well gee, a match.
My mother calls the building management and tells them about his truck parking spot, him hitting my car, and how always pissed and mean he is all the time. So they are sending someone over to check everything out, and going to send an email to the landlord asking if he did hit my car. My mother replies and if he denies it again we will call the police. The woman on the othe side agrees. So i am now waiting for a call from the building management and waiting for management to get here so i can talk to them.
