Awright, just time for a quick update. I'm sitting in an "internet cafe" on the corner of Sunset and La Brea, and I only have 14 minutes left on this computer.
As anyone who reads my journals knows, I love to eat out. You'd think I weigh 300 pounds by the way I go on about food. My license plate frame reads, "enjoy life, eat out more often." I imagine 95% of the people who see it think it's dirty, but I mean it in a totally unsleazy fashion.
Well, so far I've hit two of my favorite places in LA...Philippes, and Pink's.
The former I only discovered a few years ago, but it's absolutely a must if you're down here (9 cent coffee!). The latter my father used to take me and my sisters to when we were little. When he and my mom were separated, he would come pick us up on the weekends and take us places. I have so many wonderful memories of my father taking us to Griffith Park, Travel Town, La Brea Tar Pits, Olvera Street...all culminating in me and my sisters yelling for Pink's from the back seat of his Buick Elektra. The taste of the chili dog still reminds me of those sweet, bygone days with my wonderful, doomed father.
Next: Canter's and Zankou.
Oops, times almost up...later! Hope to see the SGLA crew tomorrow at the Pirate flick!

tek 's hook up band DEEP REDUCTION was a project started by my old friend in PA. deniz came to pennsy to produce the stump wizards and then formed deep reduction... a battle of egos kicked in and a european tour with rob younger fell flat. my pal now sells cars and tek is in australia with the drummer.
