In one of my journals a while back, I contemplated the once promising but lost careers of Cindy Williams and Randy Quaid. Now I think I have to add Bud Cort to that list. He once starred such adventurous, well-received films as M*A*SH, Harold & Maude, the Strawberry Statement and Brewster McCloud. He must have seemed like the next break-out star in Hollywood. Then...he couldn't get arrested. He survived a serious car accident in the late 70s...that slowed his puttering career down even further. He's played almost faceless parts ever since. The last time I remember seeing him was in the tiny role of John Doe Jersey in Dogma. He was totally unrecognizable...I didn't even realize it was him until I saw his name in the credits.
