Oh God! I'm so upset! Last weekend my jazz band went to a jazz festival in Vancouver and we place second after Roosevelt because they are awesome and then a school called Prairie place third. So my jazz band went to a festival at Bellevue Community College today and there were so many good bands there, but I heard from many people that my band, Roosevelt and Garfeild were by far the best. We didn't even get into the finals (there were only three spots) but Shorewood beat us to the spot. Garfeild and Roosevelt are always shoe-ins. I heard later that Shorewood's lead saxaphonist's dad was and edudicator and he judged us and Shorewood. I'm sooo pisssed! We weren't invited to Hot Java Cool Jazz at the Paramount this year....we've been invited for the five years it's been going on because they said it was suppose to advertize the five BEST bands in Washington. So they changed it and said it's just for five bands in Washington. I really wanted to place at BCC because my band and I wanted to shove it in Starbuck's face that we are good and they should have us play at Hot Java Cool Jazz (sponsered by Startbucks). I think I'm going to boy cott Starbucks....do you think I can? If you don't know me, I drink at least one grande drink from Starbucks a day. Some days it's all I have...it's bad! Anyway...I'm upset...grrr...
I thought we did really well at the festival though. The clinician guy was compimenting me on my time and fills and kinda gave the other drummer in my band a hard time for his playing. So it kinda showed Mr. Faul that I'm actually somewhat good and he shouldn't be knagging on me so much about my playing. Very happy!
In other news, my All Girl Jazz Band that I got together to perform for my senior project just got like 2 more performances hooked up. It's cool because a teacher said that if I were to stop my project now I would have done more then what other seniors have done this year for theirs. So it's more and I'll definately graduate!
CRAZY!
Yeah, and my ex just totally helped me find some closure from our relationship. Don't you hate it when there's not really any closure from a previous relationship? I do! But it's all good now. He has a good heart. Talk to you all later!
