Well, since my book came out...
I've handed out a lot of fliers. Most so-called "radical" "activists" still don't want to have anything to do with something that could actually change the world in a big way, but kids at concerts really like hearing about something that could change the world... But they still don't buy the book.
I've gone to some activist meetings, but haven't gotten very far by sitting there listening to people plan when to have more meetings.
I read parts of it at a counter-recruitment drive open mic night. That was a cool show, but I went on so late that there weren't many people left by then. I only got about 5 minutes too, which wasn't nearly enough to get very far.
I've sent copies to Jello Biafra, Greg Graffin, lead singer of Bad Religion-- who just got his DOCTORATE in BIOLOGY, Joan Baez, Ani Difranco, and Blackfire. I've been a roadie for Joan and Bad Religion, and I've met Jello, Ani, and Blackfire at various times. Blackfire knows about the book already and they're waiting to read it, but they're on tour in Europe right now. If they read it and recommend it to their fans, then I just sold a copy to every Native American rights activist in America.
I sent copies to Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu Jamal. MUMIA IS SCHEDULED TO BE EXECUTED ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!
I found an established publishing company to look at it. I haven't heard back from them in over a week, but established publishing companies usually act on a schedule of months, so that probably doesn't mean much.
I've sold a few copies, one of which was to a well-connected activist leader I know here.
Now I'm posting notices about it on various athiest bulletin boards on the net, with titles like The Bible?!?! Hell, I could Write a Better Book than THAT!!!! (Oh wait, I already did...)
Now on Friday I'm giving a lecture on it a Pagan group. That will be a performance, which I will about an hour for, and there will be a lot of people there who'd change the world if only they knew how. And maybe they'll buy some books.
