Sunday drivers-
They are everywhere, cruising the old backroads at 35 mph, taking in the unmajestic beauty of cow-filled pastures, chicken-necking every fucking thing that looks a tad bit out of the ordinary- a barn tilting a little more to the left than it was the last time they passed it, an unfamiliar bird making a pit stop on its way further south.
I realized while I was stuck behind one after grabbing grocerys that these people are happy with their lives. They feel no need to be in a hurry to get to the next big thing. They are content.
I am a fast mover- city driver, always trying to from point A to point B in as little time as possible. I curse and frown, damning the slowly scooting people in my way- as if there was something of importance waiting for me at the end of the drive. Maybe something new or perhaps I can make something happen in the little bit of time I save speeding down the highway. There never is. I never do. It's always the same damn thing.
I envy those Sunday drivers.

But I like to drive so I usually take it easy, roll my windows down, and listen to the radio. I can be a Sunday driver at times, but not on the way to work.
