I spoke too soon...
I had 6 really bad nose bleeds saturday... They were in the back so there was no way that a simple pinch would stop it. The last one was while I was driving. I was headed down 16th, to the Viaduct and down to Boken to get a Phat Milkshake and Burger at Johnny Rockets. I had a craving.
I started to feel the blood trickle down the back of my throat for the 6th time that day and was like Oh, great... I pulled over and pinched my nose and tilted my head forward to stop swallowing blood. I took my hand away for 2 seconds and the blood poured out like a faucet. Ok... lets call the Dr's service.
He called me back 45 min later and told me to go to the ER. Back to the same Hospital I was at when I had my surgery. I was in an exam room with in the hour and the Dr on call came in to check me out. As he was talking to me and started to walk out to call my doctor I started to bleed... I was like "I believe you you dont have to do that" I smiled. That was the last smile anyone saw from me.
My Dr. said to pack my nose...

The Dr shoved this up my raw, freshly operated on, nose and began to inflate it with 10cc's in the back and 20cc's in the front to apply pressure and stop the bleeding.
I cried. I cried and I was hysterical... It was leaning on a nerve and making my jaw feel like I was hit in the face with an iron fist and my eye swelled shut. And it was 9pm... my appointment was at 9am, My boyfriend just stood there... tears in his eyes... helpless.
I cried to the car, up the stairs and into bed. Perkeset (sp) and Tylenol3 weren't even taking the edge off. I slept in 20 minute clips when the drugs were high and slept sitting up. Drank water from a straw. That end of the balloon was sticking out so I couldn't drink from a glass.
9am we arrived at the Dr's office. He removed the catheter and made me a bit more comfortable, I had to sit in his waiting room for 1 hour to see if I would bleed... I didnt.
It took my jaw 9 hours to stop throbing.
I threw up a few times from not eating and taking meds.
But... today I feel better. I ate brown rice and butter. AND it all stayed down.
I have never been in that much pain.
But I have never given birth. So until then this is my MOST painful experience.
Talk to you all soon..
MUAH!
