I have a new cat named Suki, which means beloved in Japanese. The name well suites her b/c she is the sweetest little thing I've ever come across. I already have a male cat named Weenis. He is just now warming up to her. I've only had my new cat for about 5 days now. Prior to taking her in, she was actually an alley cat. I did notice, however, at one point or another she was an inside cat. She has since been declawed and I'm assuming spayed as well. Typically you do both at once. Luckily she has no fleas. I'm willing to bet she is about 1 year of age b/c she still has kitten-like features.
Evidently my crazy neighbor lady said she has been living under the stairwell for quite some time. I may have seen her once before, but it's hard to tell b/c I live in a metropolitan area. There are strays pretty much everywhere. Although, I knew this stray would be different.
I feel like she chose me, b/c she came right up to the door. My boyfriend couldn't decide if we should keep her or not, especially since we already had a cat. He actually ended up taking her back outside after we had brought her in the house to see if she would get along with Weenis. No sooner did he do that, while the door was slightly open, Suki jumped right back into the house. We knew at the point that we must keep her. She wasn't meant to be left outside. Nor could I be so crewl, being that she only had her back claws to defend herself.
Since I've brought her into my house, she has been quite dosile. She is definitely a lap cat. It is nice to have two cats with such differnt personalities. Weenis is very spunky and rambunctious while Suki is calm and relaxed. Weenis hated the idea of her living here at first. He cornered her the very first day. Now he is being a bit submissive to her. She has been making funny groaning noises at him to keep away. I think he knows who is boss. She is already the queen of the house.
