The Laurie Anderson show last Tuesday was indeed excellent! Went out for beers afterwards with my friends Jerry and Jill, and had a wonderfully intense and fascinating conversation with Jill's friend Mairin. You know, one of those conversations where everything just clicks, and you understand everything the other person is saying because you could almost have said it yourself.

Well, the pub night at Napper Tandy's went quite well, although the sound was less than perfect. I hate bad sound. The next time, I want to do the sound setup myself.
Anyway, the place was packed, and there was much consumption of adult beverages, which should please the bar owner. I have a couple of pictures of what the place looked like, and I'll...

Last night I went and heard Pushbox play a fornicatingly awesome set over at The Liquid Lounge. Had a nice chat before the show with their lead singer, Georgia (who could easily become an SG, if she ever wants to ). By the end of the night, I was in higher spirits than I've been in I don't know when.

Herr Doktor, but of course they are in vinyl. and I would be pleased to contribute to said downfall. I will see you upon the morrow(later today?) and this upcoming weekend as well.
I have you ticket within reach of my drunkely, clumsy hands as I attempt to type legibly.

I realized the reason behind our frustrations over lyrics this evening.
The lines I quoted at first were from Finnegan's Wake, which coincidentally is the song that Poet asked if I knew that night at Jeff and Theresa's.
I really should eat within thirty hours of drinking.

Last night I went and heard a Peruvian band, Kantu, play at Walden's Coffee House. I was glad to see that a couple of local musician-friend's of mine were there too , but a little disappointed that the audience wasn't larger than a dozen people or so. Perhaps the PR was lacking: I suppose that the show was only arranged in the last...

Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day!
So, having had a week to recover from that last humongously whomping big sunnavabitch of a storm, things are beginning to trend back towards normal. Not there yet, but on the way.
This past Friday my Irish band, Crannog Bheag, played at Walden's Coffeehouse. Not just my band, Kevin and Nora's too, but you know what I meant! Dare I say we kicked butt? Alright,...

Hey, what apartments are you in? Looks exactly like my sisters. We went and picked her up on Saturday morning and made her move her car and when we got back Sunday night all but one or two carports in the whole complex had collapsed! It's pretty ridiculous that maintenance wasn't taking care of that shit as soon as it started happening!

...and I think to myself, what a wonderful world
See you on friday.
See you on friday.
Spent the weekend doing Zen. Then jammed an a holiday party on Sunday afternoon.
Yesterday was my birthday. Went out for a couple of pints at the Zephyr, meeting muirtach and TeenageJesus there, along with a couple other friends. It's funny, but the Zephyr pours the best damn Guinness in town --- much better than our local "Irish" bars.
Today, however, had a nine-and-a-half hour...

Met muirtach at the Zephyr last night, along with our friends Rory and Cheyenne and James and Stacie. It should have been a poetry slam night, but apparently everyone else was sleeping off an excess of turkey, or something. Discovered that the light in the Zephyr is too funky to get a good shot with my new digicam, at least with the settings I was...
