We need a bee smiley here. I've been a busy little one.

I've been so busy with music lately, I've not had enough time for mad science! frown That must change. I've a reputation to maintain, after all (bwahahahaha!). wink

But this Wednesday past I delivered a CD of rhythm tracks for a dance production I'm involved with. Then yesterday (Thursday), we in Slow Djinn Fez performed...

Cool! I will reply to your comment when I resume having access to a "normal" internet connection (What may happen as early as tomorrow night.)

Cheers!

No word from my colleague whose parents are from New Orleans. Left messages expressing concern, but told him he need not call back. Presume that his parents evacuated early and so are okay, but will have to check again later.

Day 12, evening, Sligo. Stopped by sessiuns at Foley's and Earley's bars. Younger musicians at Foley's, but bar was very small and crowded. Four or...

Day 6, evening, Letterkenny: 1st half of Altan concert was brilliant, as expected! smile By then, though, I could hardly keep my eyes open, I was so tired, so I grabbed a cab back to the hotel and fell right into bed.

Day 7, Letterkenny: Weather has cleared up, for the first really nice day so far this trip. Crowds in streets, music in the air!...

See you soon enough and the first pint or two (alright pint and a Red Breast) are mine in celebration of you momentous feat.

More trip journal updates. I'm reading your comments smile but will likely not make too many direct replies since my Internet time here is costing around 4 Euro/hour.

Day 4, afternoon, Sligo: Stopped in CD store specializing in Irish trad recordings on way back to inn. Another mistake: cost me 75 Euro to get out! shocked biggrin Had a nice dinner later upstairs in a restaurant overlooking the...

Found an internet cafe in Sligo, where I'm typing this. Have pics from trip so far, but posting them will have to wait until I get home.

Day 1, Dublin: Staying in dorm room at Trinity College. Toured the college and saw Book of Kells a second time. In evening, passing by pub across from campus, heard music from within. 3-piece band --- pipes/whistle, guitar,...

P.P.S. surreal I just noticed that you are not in this group. You may find it interesting.

So I presume you play either belly-dance or Irish music. In either case, you would be a great addition to this one. There is also a group for the former, which I appreciated watching in any style, and love listening to the Turkish one especially. What instrument(s) do you play?

Cheers!

You may like this very organized site (It is not one of the first to come with a Google search on "Basho" - and many of those are excellent - probably because it has a Russian major component.)
