Last night I went and heard a Peruvian band, Kantu, play at Walden's Coffee House. I was glad to see that a couple of local musician-friend's of mine were there too , but a little disappointed that the audience wasn't larger than a dozen people or so. Perhaps the PR was lacking: I suppose that the show was only arranged in the last couple of weeks. I also expect that most people don't know how good Peruvian folk music can be, or that El Condor Pasa is a traditional Andean tune, not a Simon and Garfunkel original. <sigh>
Tomorrow , tigerlily's belly-dance troupe, Lotus, is having an event at the Oakland Metro, but one of my friends is having her CD release party here in Reno. What to do, what to do???
