Went skiing in the back-country near Slide Mountain and Mount Rose Meadows today. Took one of my favorite routes up to a ridge where there are some good views of Lake Tahoe. When I sat down on a rock outcropping to snack on some nuts, I was joined by this little fellow and his friends. They are black-capped chickadees. Not only would they perch on my finger and eat out of my hand, they would also perch on my hat and all over my sweater! I wish someone else had been with me to get a picture of that!
