Yeah, I should blog here more often. Two months since my last post. I'm sorry.
Last month, Slow Djinn Fez played at the Drum, Dance, and Didgeridoo Festival here in Reno. That was part of the Artown celebration here, which is a month-long festival of music, dance, theater, and the visual arts. It's a large part of what makes July my favorite month here, in spite of the heat.
On the other hand, that was my last gig with the band for an indefinite while. I've dropped out of it in order to get more time for some other projects. I'll be really concentrating on my Irish music for the next year. Also working on a search-engine software project, and maybe writing some music for one or two of the local dance troupes.
Another project is looking for interesting job opportunities in the Boston area. Actually, I have some mixed feelings about that --- mostly because moving would be such a chore (and such an expense). And I've also just redone my home office/studio to the point where I really like it. But while I was in Boston back in June, I was reminded of several things that I really like about that area: the seafood and the ice cream, to mention just two of the culinary attractions. For those of you who haven't been to Boston or other parts of coastal New England, it's not easy for me to convey to you how really good those two food items are. They are better than sex, unless we're talking about really, really good sex.
Meanwhile, check out the website that a couple of my friends created: Omland Security!
