HA HA!! Yeah.... and thanks for the vote of confidence! I actually received ANOTHER compliment from my teacher last night in Broadcast Graphics class. He told me the piece I turned in last week would be an excellent piece to add to my portfolio. So... "call me butter... I'm on a roll"

...or you could just deactivate your facebook for a week while being interviewed, then reactivate it after you're hired.

everyone checks social networking sites. every. one. i do. when hiring people. i just like researching how daft the person is that i'm about to hire. i'm not saying you're daft. but a lot of people are. no one cares about materialistic items, they care about personality and how you present yourself to the world, because once you're working for that company, you will now be showing the world how that company is as well.

Hey Mistah J. Reading your blog made me think a lot about how I felt when I first moved into the corporate environment. At times you do feel like you might fall into mainstream mediocrity and you may even feel like your creativity is being stifled. The important thing is to make sure you allow your true persona to carve the career you want. A professional image should never compromise your character. I make use of many social platforms and don't sugar coat the information I share with social media users. In saying that, make sure you consider all sides of an opportunity before closing that door. I think that if it was a job that wouldn't hire you based on silly things like hair color, or social media associations, why go for that kind of job? You should be hired based off of your strength of character and ability. You should never have to stifle yourself. If you are good at what you do, and you are confident and forward, maybe they can look past your affiliations and choice of hair color. Neither of those things would lower your ability to be a great addition to a company. I have no advice, just that.
