You know "Diva" means pain in the ass, right?
**I have never felt the need to put a disclaimer on any of my rants before. If someone was offended, fuck 'em. But since 98% of my friends are female, out of repsect, I kinda felt the need to put one in here. This is not directed at all women, just the ones who choose to use the term Diva to describe themselves***
I am fully aware that Im becoming the "I rememeber when" old man. I have known this for quite some time. But this morning I was reading a magazine article called The Dining Divas. I dont remember too much about the article because the title alone annoyed me.
The term Diva has been around for a long long time. But it started taking on a certain connotation back in the 90's. VH1 rolled out a show called Divas which featured talented women such as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houstan, and Aretha Franklin. Diva was used to convey talent and glamour and someone who was truly important. Today, the word Diva is thrown around on every episode of Bridezilla or any of the hundred other wedding shows that my Girlfriend's mom loves to watch.
9 times out of 10, there is some bitch abusing friendships, treating complete strangers like shit, and really making the grooms doubt whether or not they want to be anchored to this meglomaniacal twat for the rest of their lives. and its always justified when the Bride says, "I cant help it, Im a Diva". NO, Youre a bitch who deserves to die alone.
The word Diva has lost all of its appeal. The word Diva no longer means glitz and glamour because any woman, or cross dressing man, can use it to describe themselves. If the word can be used by anyone who wants to make themselves sound more important than they really are, then the word means absolutely nothing.
Think about it. Have you ever heard another woman say,"I want to be just like her, she is such a diva"? Have you ever heard a guy say,"I have to have her. She is such a diva"? Fuck no you haven't. No one has ever described another person as a diva without wanting to snap that bitch's neck. And no one has ever called themselves a Diva, and not made you want to see them thrown from a moving car.
Ladies, I love you, always have. But a word of advice. If you are looking for a way of describing yourself, avoid the word Diva. It doesnt make people jealous of you. It doesnt make anyone want to be you. It doesnt make men want to bow down to you. It makes everyone want to stomp the living piss out of you, and leave you tasting your own blood.

I enjoyed that rant and agree completely! Calling yourself diva is right up there with shirts that label you "100% bitch" and sweat pants that say "juicy"
