Have you ever been friends with someone for a decent amount of time, then during a pretty normal conversation something is said that makes you realize "Wow, this person is a fucking moron"
Ill explain.....
My birthday was last week. Now I dont normally make a big deal out of my birthday because over the course of the last 15 years, my birthdays tend to suck. I have had more shitty things happen to me on my birthday, then any other time of the year. Everything from loved ones completely blowing me off, all the way up to having family members or close friends die on my birthday. So I tend to dread my birthday.
Well this year was pretty good. My folks called me to wish me a happy birthday (which they didnt do last year), My mom even made this kick ass fried chicken dinner. I got about 50 texts or emails, some of which were from people that I havent talked to since high school. Then over the weekend, a small group of friends went out for dinner and drinks (where I learned the hard way that Im not 21 anymore). So the fact that so many people took the time to at least send me an email, it really meant a lot to me.
Ok Anyway, I talked to another friend today. Now we are decently good friends. We will text each other every one in a while. And we were talking today and she asked me what I did this weekend. I told her about my birthday and dinner and drinks. She then proceeded to get pissed at me for not telling her it was my birthday. At first I thought she was kidding, but as this conversation went on, I realized Nope, she is actually pissed. She told me "I feel really insulted that you didnt tell me"
It was at this point when I realized "Wow, you are a fucking moron". Please explain to me how someone can get mad at you because you didnt tell them it was your birthday? I mean is it me? Am I the only one who seems to attract these people. I swear I am a mental illness magnet for the irrational or emotionally unstable.
But even with this little blow up, all in all. Still not a bad birthday.
