i just came across this and it got me thinking..
when we're little girls we watch these movies over and over and over..
we may not even understand them at the age we started watching
but we can see the love, the connection between the two characters
and thats what i think draws us in so deeply.
In these movies love is always almost immediate between one or both people involved
and usually after some tiny struggle, they live happily ever after.
Take Cinderella for example..
the prince falls in love with Cinderella after only meeting her for a few hours
and does whatever he can to find her, and marry her.
and with our fragile little girl minds
they get you believing that your "prince" is somewhere out there for you..
that you have a true love just waiting to be found, ready to sweep you off your feet.
but reality is far from this.
cheating, lying, lust and other factors are far to prominent in todays society for an instant love connection to ever develop because everyone is too worried about getting hurt. Even if that instant love connection were to happen, there would be no way you would be able to tell the other person without the high possibility of it scaring them away.
i think this reality is what has made me fall in love with walt disney world..
because for a few days you are able to escape reality and you go back to being that little girl again.
no matter what has happened in your past, for those few short days you get a tiny amount of hope that maybe you have your own fairytale love story waiting around the corner.
i even have the tiny little dream of my man proposing to me in front of the disney castle at the fireworks show during the part they have this song playing.
its a silly little dream, but i hold on to it nonetheless.
