Hi all fellow SG's - especially those of you who became my friends after my failed attempt to re-live the glory days of Evil Knievel.
Sorry I've been so rubbish at updating any info on this blog.
The past few months have been pretty difficult as having returned to London I discovered that my "you're going to be great" surgeons in the US had slept through the lectures on bone alignment and had totally (and I mean TOTALLY) messed up my arm.
Fortunately I was refered to a consultant who is considered to be one of the best elbow guys in the UK and he fixed me up good - nothing major of course (insert sarcasm by the gallon right here), just involved having everything removed and re-done, so I had to start from scratch!
I do have a nice jar of titanium plates and screws however..
So, as you can imagine it sucked pretty bad..........it also sucked that I had to wait 2 months to drive my lovely new Mini Cooper S...........still once I was better her and I bonded very quickly indeed.
As I stands I'm now 16 weeks post-op and things are looking pretty good.
My consultant is very happy with my progress and I avoided all the possible problems such as infection which was a high risk for me.
I go to physiotherapy 3 times a week (it's good but very painful) and I'm trying to play basketball every day - I suck but it's really good exercise for my arm.
There are now lawyers involved etc.........really boring..
On the plus side it's nice to be having some time off for the first time in around 4 years and I've been trying to spend a chunk of that time in Berlin as I want to relocate there ASAP.
Very excited right now that Dita Von Teese is doing a book signing in London next week and also performing at Erotica 2007 a few days later - might go get my book signed, not sure though, I think she would reduce me to a mumbling fool.
Have a good weekend all!
