things to do in a day in springfield missouri....
i find myself here because of a study.. a study that let me out this morning at 7:30 and i have to be back in at 6am tomorrow. so.. in an effort to not waste gas in driving all the way back to fayetteville and then have to drive all the way back here.. i've been bumming around town. and this is what i've managed to kill time with so far:
-breakfast.. mcdonalds variety... $3 worth of grease. yum.
-nature center... walked 2/3 of a mile in trails. stared at turkeys... got looked at oddly from the folks in the nature center building. folded my down comforter in the back of my van and tried to nap. nap successful for about an hour and a half. which brought me to about 11am
-so.. the mall was open... wandered aimlessly. grimaced at hot topic. actually grimaced at much of stores. wandered back out, but not before getting accosted with free samples from the chinese place in the food court. i think it was chicken.. but as everything tastes like chicken.. i can't be quite certain.
-found a movie theatre after crossing and doubling over roads i'd already traveled... and saw mr. and mrs. smith. found it cute in a sick and twisted romantic kinda way. reminded me of some past relationships. and angie as always is gorgeous and makes up for any flaws i might have caught in the movie otherwise.
-had a great phone conversation with my superhuman friend tom. and got lost trying to drive and talk at the same time.
-found the mudhouse... a pretty cool coffee house with wifi.. which is where i now currently reside. had a cup of soup.. and a not so well chosen sandwhich (i never luck out being able to pick my own ingredients...) had a decaf mocha and now am working on a decaf chai. and decaf is really just wrong. but i'm not really supposed to be having any caffeine being in the study... and so decaf is still technically cheating.. but dammit i don't care. (actually i feel slightly bad about it.. but chai is so good.. and they had decaf.... )
later i will be off in search of a place to park the van to crash out for the night... thinking either walmart or a recommended street of a friend who used to live here..
then tomorrow.. vital signs at 6am, blood draw at 7am, vitals again at 7:15 then drive back to arkansas. then laundry.. perhaps dye my hair... and pack.. and then hop a 5pm bus headed towards nyc. land in nyc on thursday morning at 4am. and let the feeling of home sink in for 4 days.

I'm thinking that Wednesday night we're going to do another temple shindig. It was well received last year, and there's been a lot of interest in us doing that again.
I'm getting ridiculously excited
