When I think of how I was raised and how I am raising my kids I sometimes become very perplexed. I would never speak to my parents sarcastically or with an attitude. at least not that they could hear. I tell my oldest that he has to speak to his elders with respect. I spoke to my parents respectfully out of fear. I want my kids to do it because it is the right way to treat people.

I hope so. I remember people I did work for as a kid, lawns, errands, delivering papers, before I was old enough to get "working papers"[in NY}-and get a real job, like delivering chicken. tongue tongue biggrin These kids are pretty industrious, you do have to guide them though, none of the kids previously seemed to have any kind of work ethic, this is how they get one, I guess.
How did you do for mudslides, rain, etc.?
