Yesterday was awsome. I was involved in my first real demonstration. It turns out A an F retail store uses non-union Carpenters from out-of-state and pays them from $9-$14 per hr. So our Orange County Local organized a demonstration. We arrived at the store before the work crew showed up and set up our picket line covering all access to the building. After only three...

Crunch time at work, working 10's all week and 12's next week. Gotta save up money for winter. I'm going to take some time off next month and get eye surgery. We were supposed to go to "inkslingers ball" tonight at the paladium with our friends, could careless about the ball, we haven't seen our friends for 4 months. But our babysitter cheesed out at...

I have some new bass equipment and have been playing alot. My musical partner and I have been working on some new music, actually the stuff I have brought to the table is over ten years old, but it never fit in with the punk bands we were in. Anyways we came together and he has improved on my idea 100% (as usual). More importantly...

91 days and no booze. I wouldn't trade this for a life time of drinking. Just about everything has improved. I am learning so much about the program and even more about myself. Life is so much easier that I thought it was. I have had moments of fear that have led to anger, which in turn brought thoughts of drinking. But those thoughts were...

Things at home are still going great. I had some moments of frustration, with my insurance and all,but I have managed to stay focused and get through it. My old boss called me and lined me up with work for the summer and it's close to home. Woo Hoo! My wife always says, "do good things and good things will come." The entry doors I...

Yesterday was great. I took the train to Olvera street with my family and had a great lunch and listened to some good music.
My insurance won't cover a rehab, but I went to a detox center and even though I can't check in, they have meetings all day everyday.
I have talked to some of my friends and now know who I can count...

Glad to hear you're doing alright so far, hang in there. most people who get sober do so without treatment, so it's not a requirement by any means. There are other places besides the $15 grand hospital type. I went through the Salvation Army's program here in Vegas. Didn't cost a dime, they just put you to work during the day. I recomend that program highly. It's pretty hard to actually get in though, they want to be sure you want to get sober & not just need a place to stay or get the judge off your back. Just keep going to meetings & be sure to introduce yourself to folks there. If you've got any questions or just want to chat, drop me a message- Erik.

I have begun the process of getting into a rehab. The red tape from insurance is such a pain. I told my mom today and she's telling me "well that's what you need to do" and I bite my tongue because I feel like her and my dad are the ones who fucked me all up in the first place. Anyways I'm on my way.

She told me it's never too late and now I finally believe her

Hang in there and stay in touch with the group.
Once you stop, it really does start getting better...never would have believed that; thought life would be unbearably boring, but it's so much better I can't believe my luck.

Thank the Universe for your wife.

sometimes you wait too long and the next thing you know it's too late.

The lunatic is in my head.
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane.
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.
