The Chicago Comics and Entertaiment Expo
The show was held at McCormick and it was really lots of fun.
I attended the comic book convention held at the McCormick Place. It is the place to geek out hard. However I have found that even if I am geeking out super hard , there are others around me geeking out even harder which actually makes the whole thing a lot of fun. I volunteered to get into the convention and had a great time with the people that came from New York to help launch the show and the volunteer crew.
I had a great time shopping and spending money on brightly colored pieces of paper. The crowds were not huge, but that I not a bad thing. My friend got to go to her first convention and got to talk to a Garth Ennis and got some stuff signed. I got to buy a bunch of sketch books, prints, and books.
I got two really cool sketches at the Image booth. I got one from Gabe Bautista and one from Richard Starking. They were incredibly cool and when Richard Starking was doing the sketch he explained how he saw all his characters as human and aspects of humanity. He is very cool guy and hestarted to explain the philosophy that is behind his stories.

I also got a quick sketch by David Mack. He is the artist that created Kabuki. I am a huge fan and I cannot wait for his next project to come out.

I also got to meet a Playboy cartoonist. He had pictures of a ton of his cartoons.

I also attended a reading by Neil Gaiman. I was really happy attending the reading. I got to support the comic book legal defense fund.

The real fun part is all the people in dressed up like comic book and cartoons characters.

I have probably geeked out too hard in this post. I will write another post sooner.

Thank you very much. Reality is beginning to set in, tomorrow is the visitation. I wrote a synopsis of his influence on me, I'll be putting it here after the funeral.
