If America is afraid that uninformed voters turning out in the millions will fuck this country up, maybe it's time to spend a little of that tax money on making the average citizen more informed.
You state that the average citizen is too lazy or apathetic? Acknowledge that situation and continue to work to improve it. If we're willing to send people to die in the middle east in the name of democracy, then it shouldn't be too hard for our government to continue to find new ways to get people up to speed and into the voting booth every four years.
We need a better solution. Until then, vote with your heart, ask a friend, or listen to MTV. While it's not ideal, there are already millions of uninformed voters listening to their churches and people like Rush. What's a few more uninformed voters going to hurt? At least you made a first step. You'll have plenty of time to read up during the next 4 years (I hope).
Yes, I do have a bias towards the left at the moment. Still, I think these books have been relatively fair. Even the Jon Stewart and Michael Moore book. I just read them and they were pretty interesting.
