I'm calling the election right now; and thank Jesus we threw the fucking bums out. I have never advocated this before, but this year, I do: we, as a nation, have chosen not to vote FOR a candidate, but rather to vote AGAINST a party.
That's exactly what has happened, and rightly so. Seriously, fuck the GOP, and how dare they comport themselves in the manner that they have! Do NOT try to scare me and my fellow Americans into voting for your bullshit wars and your bullshit economic fear and your bullshit misrepresentation of socialism and religion. You FUCKED us in the ASS right in front of the entire world since the "Contract with America." How the hell could you EVER have put forth a candidate like GWB? How did this happen? I cannot believe that there was NO candidate in 2000 and 2004 more intelligent and qualified than this asshole. And don't get me started on the warmonger Cheney. We are tired of the fear, tired of the lies, and tired of the sowing of discord and division.
I am neither democrat nor republican. I am merely an American. I have in the past become more and less politically aware by turns. I have been listening to a lot of news and talk radio lately because I am intensely interested in this election. One common thread I hear from the conservative side of the aisle is that the liberals are "mad...upset...angry...ravenous...homicidal...etc," and pointing their fat fucking fingers at the liberals and chiding them, as if they were children throwing a tantrum. They point and open their stinking jowls in mock amazement at just how ANGRY the liberals are.
Well...THEY ARE FUCKING ANGRY. And they are RIGHT to be angry. The US is now at the lowest state of international esteem since Vietnam. IT DID NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.
IT IS THE FAULT OF THE GOP.
THEY DID THIS TO US.
I just came from North Carolina, the state where Elizabeth Dole ran a campaign calling her (Christian and churchgoing) opponent "godless" because she took money from atheists. I heard all the rednecks talking about how Obama is a black (I really do have a hard time saying nigger...it's disgusting) muslim who wants to take all of your money and jobs and send them to China. They still are talking a bout fucking Iraq like they were EVER a threat. It was horrible andf made me ashamed...I am STILL ashamed and angry about the way America and Americans are seeen throughout the world.
So...we have finally done something about it. We have resoundingly trounced the fuckers in the elections. We have an unprecedented democrat majority in the senate, house, and administrative branch. Roe v. Wade will be safe for a while. We have a message of "hope" rather than "fear."
There is a catch.
The catch is that we have taken on the responsibility to hold our new regime accountable for the change that is required in the nation and the world. The GOP made this mess, but you and I need to be the ones that clean it up. We have to STAY ANGRY.
Obama and his government (our government) cannot be allowed to fuck up. We voted in a regime because they are not fucking Bush clones...that's the only reason Obama won. We didn't vote somebody in, we voted some fuckers OUT. I wholeheartedly endorse this.
Now...what is definitely a plus is that Obama is definitely a statesman. He is not embarrassing. Other nations will not look at Obama and laugh at him. He can absolutely represent us with integrity, and won't look like a fucking idiot. We haven't had that since Reagan. Clinton was awesome in the world community, but we as a stupid population became obsessed with a blowjob and a stained blue dress. Carter was great, but the hostage crisis brought him down. Ford and Nixon let's not even discuss.
The issue of America's image in the world community is effectively cleaned by this election. It is ours now to tarnish or polish; we have reclaimed this right.
We NEED to effect change here at home. It is OUR responsibility to make hard decisions and choices. We NEED to make things happen.
We NEED to PROGRESS as a nation. We NEED to EDUCATE ourselves and be RESPONSIBLE. We need to SHARE. We need to LEAD, not bully.
It is a damn shame that we do not have free health care like every other civilized nation.
It is a damn shame that we are in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, and Iran.
It is a damn shame that our economy is in shambles.
It is a damn shame that we are even debating gay marriage, global warming, universal health coverage, church/state separation, creationism and "intelligent design," legal marijuana, non-violent drug offense jail time, etc.
WE NEED TO BECOME ACTIVE AND CHANGE THE WORLD, NOW THAT WE HAVE THE ABILITY.
We need to hold Obama, and all of our elected representatives as well as ourselves, accountable for the state of America from here on out. You and I and all of us have a free pass for what happened prior to TODAY because our voice and brains were taken, but the future begins RIGHT NOW and is YOUR responsibility and MY responsibility.
